Bank holidays musings...

This bank holiday I have been looking for high thread count sheets. It started off as a simple trip to John Lewis and sprawled into a 7 hr trek around London. In which we learnt a few things:

* High thread count sheets are not really available in England - 410 at Selfridges was the best we could find.

* They are much more expensive here than in NY. In NY we found 600 count sheets for approximately 100 pounds. UK 100 bought 200.

* Damascus steel is now made into kitchen knives - for about 100-300 pounds. How cool is that? The company that actually makes it is called Damasteel.

* A cool wine aerator can be purchased and makes quite poor tasting wine nice (has to be wine that benefits from oxygen of course).

* Harrods is still not open on a Sunday.

* There are some very nice houses in Knightsbridge.

On returning we watched Blade Trinity. I have to say I am getting annoyed with the movie industry feeling that 2hrs is value for money, so all movies must now be 2 hrs, even if the plot doesn't stretch that far. What ever happened to short and sweet? I know the extortionate amount charged by cinemas means they thing people should get value for money, but 2 hrs of people being hit is rather too much.

Over the years I have noticed the time going from 1:40 to 2 hrs. That leap to 2 hrs is often like leaving all the deleted scenes in - and anyone who has ever watched them will know why they were deleted. Please hollywood, do not force me to sit thru another 2 hr action flick unless it is *really* good.

Episode 3 was cool though and actually kept me interested for all its length.

Thats enough ramblings for today. Now I need to get back to profiling code and writing up changes!
